Pyramid Rock

A short clifftop walk to a lookout over the island's namesake basalt pyramid.

A perfectly pyramid-shaped basalt island standing off Phillip Island's rugged south coast, a relic of the ancient lava flows that shaped the island. From the car park at the end of Pyramid Rock Road it's an easy 10-minute return walk to two viewing platforms — the first is wheelchair accessible — with sweeping views over Bass Strait, reaching to Wilsons Promontory on a clear day. Free to visit; great for photography and a short coastal walk on to Berrys Beach.
