Rhyll Inlet Boardwalk

Mangroves, mudflats and migratory wading birds on the island's quiet side.

Boardwalks thread through the mangroves, saltmarsh and mudflats of Rhyll Inlet, a wetland of international significance under the Ramsar Convention and a feeding ground for migratory wading birds — expect spoonbills, oystercatchers, herons, egrets and cormorants. Start at the Conservation Hill car park and climb the observation tower for panoramic views over the wetlands. The mangrove boardwalk is an easy 1.2km return (about 45 minutes) and is wheelchair and pram friendly; bring binoculars, and leave the dog at home.
