San Remo Pelican Feeding

Pelicans mob the fisherman's co-op jetty for their daily midday feed — free and five minutes off the bridge.

Every day at 12 noon, wild pelicans gather on the San Remo foreshore beside the pier for a free feeding run by the San Remo Fisherman's Co-op — a tradition dating back to 1985, with trained feeders talking through the birds' habits and biology as they hand out fresh fish. It costs nothing and takes about half an hour. Afterwards, check the jetty for the resident stingrays, or grab fish and chips from the Co-op next door.
